Quilt Alliance - Go Tell It

The Quilt Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the stories behind quilts and the quilters who make them. Their mission is to "document, preserve, and share the stories of quilts and quiltmakers."

"Go Tell It" is one of the Quilt Alliance's key initiatives. It is a project designed to collect and share the personal stories of quilters and their quilts through a digital platform. The project encourages quilters to record and submit stories about the quilts they make, as well as the role that quilting plays in their lives.

The goal of Go Tell It is to create an archive of these quilt-related stories, ensuring that they are preserved for future generations. The platform allows people to share their quilts’ histories in their own words, using photos and videos. This initiative is part of a broader movement to recognize quilts not just as beautiful pieces of art or craft, but as living documents that reflect the culture, history, and personal experiences of the people who create them.

The Go Tell It project often emphasizes inclusivity, inviting quilters from all backgrounds, traditions, and walks of life to contribute their stories. These narratives might include family heirlooms, quilts made for social causes, or ones tied to personal milestones, and they offer insight into the deep cultural significance of quilts beyond their visual or tactile qualities.

Come experience the beauty, creativity, and community spirit at Quilts in the Boro! From vibrant modern designs to timeless traditional patterns, you’ll be amazed by the artistry and stories stitched into every quilt. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter, a casual admirer, or just looking for a fun outing, this show has something for everyone. Bring your friends, bring your family, and get inspired—because quilts aren’t just for keeping warm, they warm the heart too!

Judge - Pam See

I began my sewing career on the floor next to my mother's sewing machine, sewing buttons onto a scrap of fabric at the young age of five. I dreamt of making my dolls new clothes on that machine. In time, I was old enough to reach the foot pedal and that was the beginning of a lifelong love. Sewing helped pay for college where I earned a degree in math and commercial art. This combination proved to be the perfect preparation for a life in quilting. A favorite part of my work is sharing techniques and ideas with others through teaching and at the quilting retreats I organize. Recently I began a new phase in my quilting career, judging. I enjoy judging quilt shows and giving new and established quilters alike ideas on how they can improve their quilting skills. I look forward to working with you and your guild at your Quilts on the Boro Quilt Show.
